The use of Facebook as a learning environment has been issue of contention in the academic field. Questions regarding content ownership, privacy, stalking and cyber bullying, and virtual integrity are often problems that require consideration. In other words, within the university environment, students exhibiting high addiction to social media, are constantly indulged in activities that does not augur well for their learn ing using the facebook platform. That is to say, rather than share solutions and solve difficult school lessons, they prefer to bully, make crazy comments and download or upload unnecessary files that does not add a dime to their desired knowledge in academics. These problems and many more are what prompted this study. Though conflicting evidence exists on the impact of Facebook on dedicated study time with some suggesting that Facebook users spend less time studying and achieve lower academic results compared to Facebook non-users.
